The Alluna Method
A structured approach to thoughtful, doctor-led treatment planning in Hong Kong.
At Alluna Medical, we believe aesthetic medicine should be guided by careful assessment, sound clinical judgment, and honest conversation rather than routine formulas or short-lived trends. The Alluna Method is our framework for treatment planning, designed to keep the patient at the centre of every decision and to support recommendations that are evidence-informed, appropriate, and individually considered.
The framework is built around five practical considerations: patient, purpose, product, placement, and practitioner. These help us think clearly about who is being treated, what concern is being addressed, which treatment category may be suitable, where treatment may or may not be appropriate based on anatomy, and whether the overall plan is in the patient’s best interests.
In practice, this means treatment planning does not begin with a product. It begins with the person in front of us — their concerns, goals, anatomy, medical history, skin quality, lifestyle, and the degree of change they are realistically seeking. It also means that not every request leads to treatment, not every concern should be addressed immediately, and not every patient benefits from doing more.
At Alluna Medical, we also consider four core elements during assessment: anatomy, assessment, range, and treatment. Anatomy helps guide what may be appropriate in a given area; assessment brings together examination findings, history, and patient priorities; range helps define the degree of change that is realistic and harmonious; and treatment refers to the option — if any — that best fits the overall picture. This approach helps us avoid treating blindly or responding to demand without judgment.
Our consultations, treatments, and procedures are carried out by Hong Kong-licensed doctors practising evidence-based medicine. Where products or devices are used, we aim to use authentic products and recognised medical technologies sourced through appropriate channels, and patients may confirm relevant product or device details before treatment where applicable. We also believe that responsible care requires continuous learning. Techniques, products, and treatment approaches change over time, and ongoing professional education helps us stay current with developments that may be relevant to patient care. Staying current, however, is not the same as following every trend; new methods should only be adopted where they are appropriate, supported, and genuinely useful to the patient.
One of the most important parts of doctor-led care is knowing when to stop. In some cases, the most responsible recommendation may be to treat conservatively, to stage treatment over time, to focus on a different concern first, or not to proceed at all. We believe this restraint is part of good medical practice and part of protecting natural proportions, long-term judgment, and patient trust.
The Alluna Method is intended to support consultations that are clear, respectful, and grounded in the patient’s best interests. Its purpose is not to promise outcomes, but to provide a structured way of thinking through treatment decisions with care, honesty, and professional responsibility.
If you would like to discuss a concern in more detail, you may arrange a doctor-led consultation through our Bookings page or WhatsApp our Teambefore your visit. Individual assessment is always required before any treatment is recommended, and suitability, risks, downtime, and outcomes vary from person to person.
